About the Presentation
This presentation will focus on the intersection of estate planning and divorce, with the goal of helping you understand how to accomplish more sound planning for divorcing and divorced parties. We will review special estate planning situations that should be addressed during a divorce, such as irrevocable trusts and planning for children with special needs. We will also discuss when estate planning documents should be reviewed and updated in connection with a divorce, and how divorce impacts existing planning documents, asset titling, and beneficiary designations.

The presentation will also address drafting for the possibility of divorce, how the estate planner can help a divorced client better plan for the future, and identifying issues in marital settlement agreements that impact estate planning.
