Wednesday, January 21, 2009 John A. Warnick will discuss why asset protection planning has become so popular, and he will explore fundamental asset protection techniques which are often overlooked by planners. He will review the legal foundations of spendthrift trusts as well as the recent phenomena of the domestic asset protection trust. The program will conclude with relevant considerations in determining whether a client should establish an asset protection trust in an offshore jurisdiction or one of the states in the U.S. which have adopted asset protection legislation intended to compete with offshore trusts.
